MOST COMMON INJURY AT WORK IS HEARING DISORDER
The ability to hear is one of the most demanding of the five senses. The hearing is demanding for daily interactions and understanding what is going on around us. Not only does hearing add to the enjoyment and allow for communication, but hearing also keeps us safe from many circumstances. When an individual’s sense of hearing is impaired or lost, the individual may lose the ability to do certain types of work as well as the ability to talk with family and friends, interact socially, enjoy certain things or even cross a street safely. Disclose to loud noise can damage the inner ear permanently. Wistfully, it comes as no surprise that hearing loss has become the most common injury at work. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conclusion that around 22 million workers are exposed to hazardous levels of noise every year.
